About Us

Kim & CheetoKimberly Waugus

Kim has been training dogs for 10 years.  She is the Outreach Coordinator for Shelter From The Storm, an all breed rescue and low cost spay/neuter clinic out of Madison and is the former director of the Dodge County Humane Society.  She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Green Acres Boxer Rescue of Wisconsin, an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and a training instructor for the Animal Behavior College.  Kim and her Boxer, Cheeto, are a certified Pet Partner team through Delta Society,   members of Dogs on Call, Inc. out of Madison and founding members of Baderland Animal Reading and Comfort Companions (B.A.R.C.C.) out of Beaver Dam.  She enjoys reading books and attending seminars to advance her training skills and animal knowledge.  

Kim has helped numerous reactive and shy dogs and thoroughly enjoys teaching all dogs and their humans.  Kim and her husband, Erick, are owned by four Boxers - Bailey, Kate (CGC), Cheeto CGC, DS), and Casper and one sassy cat named Romeo.  They have fostered countless dogs, some cats, and even a few rabbits. 

Chloe, Duke & NubbyRenee Ward

Renee has been training dogs for five years.  Renee graduated from Animal Behavior College and interned with Lisa Bailey in Allenton, WI.  She then discovered Lisa Caughlin, the owner of Canine Academy in Texas and through Lisa, Renee trained to do detection work with canines.  Since then, she has been training police, arson, SAR, and service dogs for four years.  Renee works with several area humane societies and fosters dogs for Green Acre Boxer Rescue.  She is also a certified CGC evaluator through the AKC and a founding member of Baderland Animal Reading and Comfort Companions (B.A.R.C.C.)

Renee excels at training working dogs and enjoys in helping people learn how to work with their dogs.   Renee shares her home with her husband, Darryl, and three canine friends: Duke, an extremely smart black Labrador Retriever, a male Boxer, Nubby, and Chloe, a deaf white female Boxer.  

Kate Derge

Kate has been working and studying with dogs for the past 17 years.  In addition to training with her own dogs, Kate has researched and studied best practices in training and continues to seek and further her knowledge in the field.  Kate feels that training should be a positive experience for the family and advocates involving school age children in learning about training and responsible pet ownership.

Kate has a Master of Arts degree in Education and now works for American Family Insurance.  Kate is the mother of Dylan-age 6, and dogs Zeus (Rottweiler), Jazmine (American Eskimo mix), and Zena a very smart breed of adorableness.
